Individualized Psychotherapy for Adults
Offering in person therapy in Manhattan and teletherapy in NY, NJ, and FL
Welcome
Hi, I’m Dr. Jenna Marshall, a clinical psychologist in midtown Manhattan providing active, customized therapy for adults as they navigate the challenges of life.
My clients often come to therapy because they feel stuck and unable to make meaningful change. Sometimes this is in response to a significant event such as a life transition, trauma, or loss. Other times they feel caught in persistent patterns in their relationships or within themselves, sometimes for years. Whatever brings you here, I know that this probably isn’t the first thing you’ve tried. Sometimes we don’t see how the same strategies we are using to free ourselves are the very ones that keep us imprisoned. This is because at an earlier time and in a different context, they served an important function. Similarly, your current feelings that seem alien to you make perfect sense when we understand context from which they arose. I will work with you to connect more deeply to the vulnerable versions of yourself that you are still protecting, hold compassion for your efforts at self-preservation, and put words to the feelings that don’t yet have a name. This new insight can empower you to create more meaningful relationships, develop greater confidence, and build a more fulfilling life.
My work incorporates evidence-based approaches including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). These approaches offer structure to what is viscerally felt and empirically proven; that the therapeutic relationship is the central factor in promoting change. I am intentional about creating an environment that is warm, respectful, and collaborative where you can explore and grow without judgment.
